On 26 September, the AYSO Orchestra brings an evening dedicated to the timeless music of Bach to the Teatro Kursaal Santalucia in Bari, Italy. Under the direction of Teresa Satalino, the orchestra is joined by acclaimed soloist Fabiana D’Auria for a performance that celebrates elegance, clarity, and the enduring beauty of Baroque music.

Teresa Satalino has pursued an extensive and multifaceted academic path, earning diplomas in Piano, Composition, Orchestral Conducting, Jazz Music, and Music Education, as well as a degree in Humanities with a thesis dedicated to Luciano Berio. She further refined her training with a Master in Orchestral Conducting, studying with distinguished maestros such as Jorma Panula, Bruno Bartoletti, Lu Jia, Alain Lombard, and Piero Bellugi, and completing advanced studies in jazz arranging at Siena Jazz and film music at the Accademia Chigiana.

She has conducted in numerous prestigious venues, including the Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, Palazzo Esterházy in Eisenstadt, Smetana Hall in Prague, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Sureyya Opera House in Istanbul, and Auditorio da OSPA in Brazil. Her collaborations include orchestras such as the Orquestra Sinfônica de Porto Alegre and the Istanbul Chamber Orchestra, working with renowned soloists including Alexander Chaushian, Camille Thomas, Boris Brovtsyn, Sophie Dervaux, and Dumitru Pocitari.

Since 2018, she has served as Artistic and Musical Director of AYSO Orchestra, leading the ensemble to two consecutive first prizes at the International Summa Cum Laude Festival in Vienna. In 2025, at the World Orchestra Festival, she received the Outstanding Conductor Award, while the orchestra was honored with the Golden Award and the Best Stage Performance Award.

Her concert activity is closely connected to Italian cultural diplomacy abroad, with performances for the Italian Cultural Institutes and Embassies of Italy in Vienna, Paris, Brussels, and Prague, as well as at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris.

Fabiana D’Auria

Violin

Fabiana D’Auria began her musical studies in her hometown and graduated with distinction from the Conservatorio di Musica San Pietro a Majella in Naples and the Conservatorio “G. Lettimi” in Rimini. She furthered her training at the Maastricht Conservatory under the guidance of renowned violinist Boris Belkin and is currently continuing her studies at the Conservatoire Royal de Liège with Marc Bouchkov.

Her artistry has been recognized with numerous awards, including First Prize at the National Music Competition “Saverio Mercadante” and First Prize at the International Competition “Sant’Alfonso Maria de’ Liguori.”

Fabiana has participated in masterclasses with esteemed musicians such as Pavel Vernikov, Ilya Grubert, Svetlana Makarova, Simone Bernardini, Ulf Schneider, Tomasz Tomaszewski, Stefano Pagliani, and Igor Volochine. A devoted chamber musician, she regularly performs with her trio and quartet ensembles.

In addition to her chamber music work, Fabiana has served as concertmaster with orchestras including the Nuova Orchestra Scarlatti and the AYSOrchestra.
She has performed in prestigious venues such as Smetana Hall in Prague, Haydnsaal in Eisenstadt, the Musikverein and Konzerthaus in Vienna, and the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples.

Committed to teaching, she has led masterclasses in Cyprus for the Pharos Foundation and has collaborated with internationally acclaimed artists including Daishin Kashimoto, Joaquim Riquelme Garcia, Vahan Mardirossian, Boris Brovtsyn, Diemut Poppen, Svetlin Roussev, Anton Sorokov Alexander Chaushian, Jing Zhao, Sumina Studer, and Christel Lee.

Currently, she is engaged in projects with the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège, performing on tours across Europe. Upcoming engagements include the International Pharos Chamber Music Festival, as well as festivals in Spain and Lisbon and concert performances throughout the Netherlands and Italy.

AYSO Orchestra

AYSO Orchestra is a youth ensemble composed of under-25 musicians from across Italy and from several European and non-European countries, recognized for its artistic excellence and the quality of its performances. The orchestra has established itself on the international stage by winning the First Prize for two consecutive years at the Summa cum Laude International Festival in Vienna, as well as the Golden Award at the World Orchestra Festival, confirming its position among the most distinguished youth orchestras in Europe.

Throughout its tours, AYSO has performed in some of Europe’s most renowned concert halls, including the Golden Hall of the Musikverein and the Konzerthaus in Vienna, the Smetana Hall in Prague, and the Haydn Saal of the Esterházy Palace.

The ensemble has also represented Italy abroad in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institutes and the Embassies of Italy in Vienna, Paris, and Prague, culminating in a special performance at the UNESCO Headquarters in Paris.

AYSO will represent Italy at the Konzerthaus in Berlin on 16 August 2026, as part of the Young Euro Classic Festival, widely regarded as the world’s leading festival dedicated to youth orchestras.
